Where Classic Meets Modern: Custom Branding & Website for a Mobile Mechanic

Client Feature

TLDR: Inspired by classical mechanics but with a modern approach, we approached this automotive branding and website design to feel dependable yet slightly punchy, pairing a touch of vintage charm with the craftsmanship of Mike Oddo, the mobile mechanic himself.

Built from Real Experience

The auto repair industry is evolving with modern needs. This classic service is no longer limited to traditional shops, and that shift is exactly why Mike Oddo started his business. After years of working on vehicles and helping people through stressful situations, he saw how inconvenient and confusing auto repair can be for everyday drivers.

That experience led to Oddo’s Auto Repair & Services, a mobile mechanic service built on reliability and transparency. It is designed to meet people where they are. Through his wife Katie, one of our clients (and someone we have worked closely with as well), Mike reached out to us at Saltd to create a custom branding and website that reflects his mission, his craftsmanship, and the solution he offers.

A Process Built on Structure and Clarity

At Saltd, every project starts with clarity. We do not just design for looks. We design for meaning, alignment, and long-term use. For Oddo’s Auto, the goal was to balance familiarity with a fresh perspective. Inspired by classic automotive elements and refined through a modern lens, the identity feels grounded but never outdated.

  • Brand strategy and research to define positioning
  • Full identity system, from logo to typography and visual language
  • Custom icons and patterns tailored to the brand
  • Application across key touchpoints and collateral

This structured approach is how we create brands that align with our clients’ business, design preferences, and messaging from the inside out.

Redefining Automotive Branding Through Detail

Instead of defaulting to common visuals, we focused on subtle, intentional design choices.

  • Playfulness – Using the Os and Ds from “Oddo” as wheels and doors in the logos reinforces the brand name and services through this visual exploration.
  • Familiarity – Supporting brand elements are inspired by gears, steering wheels, mobile suspension, and tire tracks, mainly used as repeating patterns but can also stand alone as icons.
  • Clarity – We keep elements simple and recognizable so the brand translates easily across different applications.
  • Overall Vibe – The direction leans into a minimal, clean, modern, and slightly retro style, avoiding clichĂ© car brand tropes by emphasizing precision and craft.
  • Color & Energy – The color palette expands on the original pop of color while keeping the brand sleek and making it feel more dynamic.

Altogether, it creates a brand that feels distinct and able to compete on its own.te on its own.

A Website Designed for Convenience

For Oddo’s Auto, the website needed to feel easy from the first interaction. It focuses on accessibility and convenience so customers can quickly find what they need, understand the services, and book with confidence. This led to a transformed Squarespace website with booking integrations and dedicated service pages, all built into a clear and reliable experience, supported by a balance of visuals and SEO-friendly text that keep the site on-brand and easy to navigate. Supporting the Brand Beyond Launch

Oddo’s Auto is built around meeting people where they are, both in service and experience. The new automotive branding and website support that direction, making it easier for people to find, understand, and trust the service. And it doesn’t stop there. We continue working with Mike through SEO, blogs, newsletters, and social media, helping the brand grow over time while staying aligned with its goals.

This is what we aim to deliver for every client at Saltd Studio. Alignment between strategy, design, and execution is what makes a brand truly work. If you want to see how we approach other projects, explore our portfolio, or feel free to reach out.
